Environment:  benthopelagic; marine; depth range - 30 m
Distribution:  Eastern Central Atlantic: Cape Verde Is.
Diagnosis:  Dorsal spines (total): 10-13
Biology:  Inhabits rocky bottoms interspersed with sand in near-shore waters to about 30 m depth or slightly more. Feeds on seaweeds and benthic invertebrates (Ref. 3688).
