Environment:  demersal; brackish; marine; depth range 1 - 40 m
Distribution:  Eastern Indian Ocean: South Africa.
Diagnosis:  Dorsal spines (total): 0-0; Dorsal soft rays (total): 70-76; Anal spines: 0-0; Anal soft rays: 54-63; Vertebrae: 46-46. Dark brown, sometimes with darker specks; dorsal and anal fins with pale edges; right pectoral fin blackish (Ref. 3200).
Biology:  Occurs in shallow coastal waters. Feeds mainly on bottom-living invertebrates. Marketed fresh.
