Environment:  reef-associated; marine; depth range 9 - 171 m
Distribution:  Western Atlantic: North Carolina to Palm Beach in Florida and northern Gulf of Mexico in the USA.
Diagnosis:   
Biology:  Prefers hard bottom, rocks, jetties and ledges.
