Max. size:  5.5 cm SL (male/unsexed); 5 cm (female)
Environment:  benthopelagic; freshwater; pH range: 6 - 6.5; dH range: 2 - 4
Distribution:  South America: upper Meta River drainage (Guaytiquía and Metica rivers), Orinoco River basin in Colombia.
Diagnosis:   
Biology:  Maximum length is 7.0 cm TL (Ref. 36377). Aquarium keeping: several females for one male; minimum aquarium size 60 cm (Ref. 51539). The eggs are attached to the ceiling of caves, female cares for eggs and larvae (Ref. 47893).
