Environment:  benthopelagic; freshwater
Distribution:  Europe: Neretva River drainage in Croatia and Bosnia and Herzegovina.
Diagnosis:  Dorsal spines (total): 3-3; Dorsal soft rays (total): 8-9; Anal spines: 3-3; Anal soft rays: 13-15. Distinguished from all congeners by the following combination of characters: anal fin with 13½ - 15½ branched rays; first anal-fin ray below branched dorsal rays 6-10 or situated up to one scale after the last dorsal-fin ray; ventral keel exposed for at least 2/3 of the distance between the pelvic fin base and the anal aperture; 17-26 gill rakers; 40-48 scales on lateral line (Ref. 85064).
