Distribution:  Pacific Ocean: Off Peru.
Diagnosis:  Dorsal soft rays (total): 3-3; Anal soft rays: 3-3. Diagnosis: Metamorphosed females of Acentrophryne dolichonema differs from A. longidens in having a much longer distal escal appendage (27.6-35.7% SL vs. 2.3-2.5% SL ); a longer illicium (63.6-70.5% SL vs. 35.7-54.9% SL); a narrower head (25-28.1% SL vs. 35.7-37.3% SL); and a fewer number of pectoral fin rays (16 vs. 18-19) (Ref. 54827); caudal fin rays 9, ninth ray (ventral most) 10.5-17.3% SL (Ref. 86949).
