Main Ref. Mattos, J.L.O., W.J.E.M. Costa and A.C.A. Santos, 2015
Remarks The type locality of G. diamantinensis is composed of several relatively small black-water rivers; bottom is sandy and rocky, with little riparian and submerged vegetation; at this site, the River ParaguaƧu was about 100 m wide and 0.9 m deep in average; river margins were mostly covered by bushes and secondary forest; stomach content revealed that G. diamantinensis is insectivorous and feeds mainly on autochthonous resources; the main stomach contents included the following insect orders: Diptera, Ephemeroptera, Coleoptera, Trichoptera and Odonata; in addition, a residual content of vegetal material was also found (Ref. 118113).
