Remarks Inhabits black water river, running through thick gallery forest. Mostly found abundat in areas of sluggish water with sandy bottoms and relatively little forest cover. Encountered in waters with low conductivity 2-39 ?S , temperature 25-33°C, low to neutral pH 4.1-7.1, secchi depth 0.7-1 m, velocity 0.1-0.3 m/s, and dissolved oxygen 5.1-6.7 mg/l (Ref. 95093).
