Anmärkningar Adults are hematophageous predators (Ref. 51442). They often inflict extensive damage on their hosts by rasping away large amounts of flesh from the back; they become bloated when feeding because the entire gut is full of blood and fish flesh (Ref. 1998). The ammocoetes larvae are microphageous and feed on diatoms and protozoans (Ref. 51442).
