Remarks 'saara', is the general name applied to species belonging to this group. According to Mamadou Lamine Bathily, the 'saara' spawn in flood pools, then migrates back to the river. They are fished with barriers. The juveniles which are still in the flood pools escape into the river as water level decreases in dry season and where they are caught with traps.
