Remarks Not stated in the 1990 reprint of Ref. 1998. 'Cisco', short for Canadian French term 'ciscoette' for any of the whitefish genus of the coregonid family which includes important food fishes of the Great Lakes region (p. 243 in Ref. 11978); 'sardinelle', from Latin 'sardina' (p. 670 in Ref. 9404). Also used in Ref. 27545.
