Comments: | Recorded from Hagonoy, Bulacan, Manila Bay, Laguna de Bay and Taal, Batangas. In Hagonoy, Bulacan, local farmers attribute the decrease in harvest of more valuable fishes with the appearance of the species, claiming that the fish preys on the milkfish, other tilapia (Oreochromis spp.), possibly the giant tiger shrimp and the white-leg shrimp (Ref. 108831).
