Type locality, north of Exmouth Gulf, Western Australia, CSIRO H 5192-01 (holotype of Dipturus falloargus, 41.4 cm TL, adult male). Known from northwestern Australia, from Exmouth Gulf, Western Australia (21°29′ S, 114°04′ E) to north of Melville Island, Northern Territory (10°04′S, 130°31′ E) (Ref. 75648).
