Known from Loughs Leane and Muckross in Kerry, Ireland. Believed to have existed or that similar charrs existed in Loughs Tay, Dan (Wicklow), Acoose (Kerry), and Nalughraman (Donegal). Extripated in Loughs Acoose, Tay and Dan. Has not been recorded from Muckross since 1904 (Ref. 59043). Type locality: Lough Luggala and Lough Dan in Wicklow, Killarney and Lough Acoose in Kerry, Ireland (Ref. 13696). Threatened due to eutrophication in Lough Leane (Ref. 59043).

Status of threat: critically endangered (Ref. 59043).
