Known from Ohio River basin from western New York to northern Indiana and south to northern Alabama, and Lake Erie in Ohio based on a single record (Ref. 86798). Uncommon and localized (Ref. 86798). Report in Ozark streams (Ref. 5723) may represent different species. Also Ref. 10294.
