Comments

Records from Alaska are not completely reliable due to confusion with c99losely related species (Ref. 27547). Known with reasonable certainty from Paxson and Crosswind lakes in the Copper River drainage and from Lake Louise and the Tyone Lakes in the Susitna drainage (Ref. 28845, 28846). Quite abundant wherever it is found, especially when schooled for spawning (Ref. 27547). Morrow 1980 (Ref. 27547) reports this species as virtually unused in the country, with unsuccessful attempts of commercial fishing at Crosswind, Louise and Tyone lakes; Fridmont 1995 (Ref. 9988) however reports it to be an important food, recreational and subsistence species in Alaska. Also Ref. 5723, 6876, 119194.
