Considered critically endangered in 2000 (41386). This species occurs only in the River Bečva, a tributary to the River Morava, and in the section of River Morava under the mouth of River Bečva. The present populations are stabilised (Lusk et al. 2000, Merta & Lusk 2004 in Ref. 52149). Protected under Law 114/1992 and Intimation 395/1992) (Ref. 52149). Also Ref. 12255, 54732, 90060.

Status of threat: Critically endangered, B(1), C(2a) (Ref. 52149, 89840).
