Considered as a Vulnerable species in Brazil (Ref. 126840). Ranges from Paraíba south to São Paulo, including Manuel Luiz Reefs and Zumbi Reefs (Ref. 57756). First record from Lagoa da Conceição, Florianópolis, Santa Catarina in 2009 (Ref. 123493). It is fairly common at the southern part of the country and with a spearfishing record of 71 kg (E. Baumeier, pers. comm. 03/06/02). Also Ref. 55, 13442. |
