Type locality, tributary to the Rio Cuchara, Rio Aguacatengo drainage, Oaxaca, UANL 15253 (holotype of Xiphophorus mixei, 3.9 cm SL, 6 mm sword, male). Inhabits the headwaters of Rio del Sol, Rio Sarabia system and tributaries to rio Aguacatengco (Rio Jaltepec drainage) west of Platanillo, Oaxaca, Mexico, Rio Coatzacoalcos basin (Ref. 52914). |
