Known from Hari basin and may have been translocated to Caspian Sea basin by people. Found in Harirud, Kalat, Zanglu and Kashaf Rivers (Ref. 128648).

Status of threat: IUCN: Not Evaluated, PC: Least Concern.

Even if this species is widespread in its range, over the recent years, droughts in the Harirud basin has destroyed many of its habitats. It occurs in more than 10 independent populations and not thought to have declined (or will decline) fast enough to qualify for NT or any other threat category. Thus, classified as Least Concern.
