Known from the Peninsular India in Cauvery, Krishna, Godavary, Mahanadi and Narmada river systems (Ref. 41236) of the Western Ghats (Ref. 40976), Orissa, Madhya Pradesh and Rajasthan (Ref. 43640). Also Ref. 4832, 45255.

Status of threat: Endangered in Western Ghats (Ref. 50614).
