Comments

Known from Coral Sea Islands Territory, QLD (Great Barrier Reef), WA (N coast), NW coast); Rowley Shoals and Ashmore Reef, WA and Osprey Reef to Herald Cay, Coral Sea and Raine Island to One Tree Island, QLD (Ref. 075154). Observed to be normally confined to offshore reefs along the eastern edge of the Great Barrier Reef and only rarely found on mid reefs near Lizard Island and never from coastal reefs. It is most abundant in depths of 10-30 metres, but is found from 1-37 m (Ref. 100726).
