Occurs in the Chao Phraya, Mekong, Maeklong, Salween, Peninsular and Southeast Thailand river systems (Ref. 26336). Recorded from Chiengmai (Chiang Mai), Me Poon, Pitsanulok, Bangkok, and Tale Sap (Ref. 1632); also from Kanchanaburi and Surat Thani (Ref. 37773). Highly priced food fish. Consumed fresh (Ref. 6459).
