Described from specimens, 18.2 - 24 cm, collected from the type locality Dansalan, Lake Lanao, Mindanao (1907, 1921). The longest and bulkiest carp of the lake, but not especially prized for food. Caught with gill nets (Ref. 2929). Still caught in the lake from 1963 to 1964 (Ref. 10885). No specimen was caught during the 1994 expedition (Ref. 10888) and 1975-76, 1982-83, 1990-91 and 2008 surveys (Ref. 95183). Also Ref. 280, 3881, 13446, 70969, 94476.
