Reported from Hoi Ha Wan (Ref. 94637, 119713); and Cape D'Aguilar (Ref. 129329). Also reported from Mirs Bay, Tolo Channel, and Tolo Harbour (Ref. 126271). Dominant in catches from depths of <180 m in January-March (Ref. 12082); increased catches also reported in April-May (Ref. 33067). Sold in live fish markets. Commonly consumed in Hong Kong (Ref. 125589). Also Ref. 125407.
