Reported from Hoi Ha Wan (Ref. 94637); Tung Ping Chau (Ref. 125586); and Cape D'Aguilar (Ref. 129329). Also reported near coral areas in Kat O, Crescent Island, Port Island, and Grass Island (Ref. 128523). The species was observed on 11 to 100 occasions during 400 dive surveys on artificial reefs (Ref. 119494). Found in live fish markets (Ref. 27253, 40944). Commonly consumed in Hong Kong (Ref. 125589). Also Ref. 4787, 5222, 12087.
