Recorded from from the Mekong River system in Yunnan (Ref. 38630),
Zhujiang River (= Pearl River) drainage of Guangdong Province, Jianjiang
River drianage and Hainan Island all drainage (Ref. 33345). Introduced
from its native range to other regions in the country (stocked in all
kinds of inland waters) (Ref. 55380). Known from Dongjiang River
driangage, Beijiang River draingae; Hainan Dao Qiongzhong, Yunnan Hekou.
