Description of life cycle and mating behavior A cluster of eggs, about 15-50, are spawned every few days in the morning and females carry them for a few hours, until the eggs are entangled into aquatic vegetation by the filaments which cover them. Eggs hatch in 10-12 days at 24°C (Ref. 59043).
