Oxyeleotris marmorata picture (soonhock2.jpg) by Beng Yong Tang

soonhock2.jpg

1 of 1

Size (cm): 10 TL
Locality: Singapore, Punggol Park Pond
Sex: undetermined
Date: 2004-07-07
Remark: One of the few native fishes still common in Singapore. The photo shows a side view of a fingerling. Normally the fish rights itself when out of the water and uses its pectoral fins to support itself and it can crawl. It also opens its mouth and gill covers when out of the water, probably to absorb atmospheric oxygen.
