Distribution:  Western Central Pacific: Hawaii and Midways Is,
Diagnosis:  Dorsal spines (total): 2-2; Dorsal soft rays (total): 33-34; Anal spines: 0-0; Anal soft rays: 31-33. This species is distinguished from its congeners by the following set of characters: body behind theh eye covered with many longitudinal, narrow dark stripes; pelvic flap with many narrow dark stripes running almost parallel to postero-ventral edge of pelvic flap; head with similar narrow dark stripes but at right angles to those on pelvic flap (Ref. 124778)..
