Max. size:  3.66 cm SL (male/unsexed)
Environment:  pelagic-neritic; marine
Distribution:  Western Central Alantic: Colombia.
Diagnosis:  Dorsal soft rays (total): 9-9; Anal spines: 1-1; Anal soft rays: 16-17; Vertebrae: 41-42. This species belonging to the martinica species-group is distinguished from its congeners by the following characters: anus is between anal fin origin and pelvic fin insertion; tips of pelvic fins reaching the anterior margin of vent; posterior margins of predorsal and lateral scales are strongly laciniate; lateral scales 42-44; predorsal scales 20-22; length of spinous dorsal fin 8.5-9.5% SL; the least depth of caudal peduncle 7.3-8.6% SL (Ref. 123107).
Biology:  The species was collected in open water, at night when lights were submerged below the surface waters to 1 m off the R.V. Pilsbury. about 1 km offshore (Ref. 123107).
