Environment:  demersal; marine; depth range 25 - 973 m
Distribution:  North Pacific: Sea of Okhotsk and Bering Sea to Unalaska Island in the Aleutian chain and Fort Bragg, California, USA.
Diagnosis:  Dorsal spines (total): 0-0; Dorsal soft rays (total): 85-102; Anal spines: 0-0; Anal soft rays: 74-89. Dorsal and anal fins confluent to caudal; caudal narrowly rounded but not clearly distinguishable; pectorals almost rounded with lower 7 rays exerted; pelvic fins minute (Ref. 6885).
Biology:  Found on sandy or muddy bottoms (Ref. 2850).
