Diagnosis:  Distinguished by the following characters: D ii,9; A ii,8-9; predorsal scales 12-13; scales above lateral line 5-5.5, below 3; body with black longitudinal stripe reaching anteriorly to the vertical line from the origin of dorsal fin; head length 24.0-33.3% SL; length of barbels extending to beneath the front margin of the pupil, or to a point below its middle (Ref. 84025).
