Remarques Exhibits a gradient of abundance from low numbers in rithral/transitional habitats in headwater areas to higher numbers in potamal areas in the middle-lower reaches in rivers. Bentho-pelagic ?sh inhabiting shallow (<1 m) and slow waters of lakes (Laja, Icalma and Galletue´ ) and rivers. They occur over boulders or a mixed substrate of boulders, gravel and sand patches. Feeds mainly on chironomid larvae and other aquatic insects (may?ies, caddis?ies) and small mollusks (Ref. 58887).
