Remarks 'blenny' from Latin 'blennius', i.e., a sea fish (Ref. 11978), from Greek 'blennos', i.e., slime, a fish allied to 'kôbios'; 'fang', i.e., the stinging teeth of snakes, from Old and Middle English periods which originally meaning 'prey, spoils' and later changed to mean 'take, capture', from prehistoric Germanic '*fangg-' (p. 219, Ref. 11979).
