Remarks 'Nonparasitic', i.e., not living on or in an organism in parasitism; 'brook', i.e., swamp, of Germanic orgins (p. 81 in Ref. 11979); 'lamprey' from Old English from Latin 'lampreda' from 'lampetra', i.e., stone-licker since the lamprey holds on to rocks with its jawless sucking mouth (p. 316 in Ref. 11979).
